We use cookies in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
2. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It lets the site recognise your device on return visits, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is being used.
We also use technologies that work in a similar way, and we refer to all of them as “cookies” throughout this policy:

3. Your consent and how long it lasts
When you first visit mysmeleader.com you’ll see a cookie banner. Non-essential cookies are set only after you accept them. You can accept all, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose category by category — rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the site works either way.
90-day consent cycle
Your cookie consent lasts for 90 days. After 90 days, our banner will reappear and ask you to confirm your choices again. This makes sure your preferences stay current and that we’re never relying on consent given long ago.
You do not have to wait 90 days to change your mind. You can update or withdraw your choices at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent stops any further non-essential cookies being set; cookies already on your device can be cleared through your browser (see Section 7).
90 days’ notice of material changes
If we intend to make a material change to how we use cookies — for example introducing a new category of tracking, or a new third-party provider that processes your data in a materially different way — we will give 90 days’ notice before that change takes effect. We’ll do this by:
- publishing an updated version of this policy with a clearly marked effective date;
- displaying a notice on our website; and

You will be asked to give fresh consent before any new non-essential cookie is set. Minor changes, such as a supplier’s cookie name or expiry changing, or corrections to this policy’s wording, may be made without the 90-day notice period, but the “last updated” date will always reflect them.

Note on completeness: cookie names and expiry periods set by third parties can change without notice. A live, automatically maintained cookie table is generated by our consent management platform and can be viewed via the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer.
5. Cookies and tracking in our emails
Our newsletters and programme emails, sent through HubSpot, may contain small tracking pixels and tagged links that tell us:
- whether an email was opened, and roughly when;
- which links within it were clicked.
We use this only to judge whether our content is useful and to stop sending material that clearly isn’t landing. We do not use it to build detailed behavioural profiles.
You can prevent open tracking by turning off automatic image loading in your email client. You can stop all marketing email using the unsubscribe link in every message, or by emailing shyju@mysmeleader.com.
6. Cookies in our live online sessions
Our live sessions are delivered through Zoom / Microsoft Teams. When you join a session, that provider sets its own cookies and processes data under its own privacy and cookie policies, which we do not control. Please refer to the provider’s own notices for detail.

Most browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” setting. There is no agreed industry standard for responding to it, so our site does not currently act on that signal — please use the cookie banner or your browser controls instead.

We set strictly necessary cookies on the basis that they are essential to provide the service you requested — PECR exempts these from the consent requirement.
All other cookies are set on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
